One Match.

I have so many things I should be writing about - and a handful of book reviews I need to get done - and yet, I can't seem to think about anything else but the people in my world who move me.

The people in my world who move mountains.

I have friends. Family members. Sisters. Loved ones.

Each of them creates their own story.

Each lives through the highs and faces the lows.

Fights the good fight.

Parents their child(ren) with full hearts and minds.

Loves their partner with their whole being.

Recognizes that how they identify themselves impacts their child(ren) - today, tomorrow and in years to come.

These friends - these people - they are amazing. Powerful. Strong.

They're family. Friends. Loved ones.

They're people who move me beyond words. And yet - with these words - I try to describe the feeling anyway.

These are the people in my world who need but one match to make the change they're hoping for. They speak freely. They host conferences. Speak at them. Discuss business. Blogging. Health. Wellness. Emotions. Mental health. Pregnancy. Loss. Love. Grief.

These individuals in my world make up an entity I'm blessed to be a part of.

For I, too, might only have one match.

But I can make an explosion.

  1. Yes! I adore my village. For those days when I am completely engulfed in all that is wrong they manage to encourage me with just their sheer will and power and they don't even know it.

Just one of the many reasons why it is so important to surround ourselves with positive people.

  4. Great post! It's funny how those moments grab you - isn't it? I hope I'm getting better at seeing them and taking the time to notice them and be in the moment for them . . .at least for a little bit =)

Yes!!! Grateful for the positive people in my life like YOU that help me continue to fight and laugh through physical and mental battles. The quote "A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle." comes to mind. YOU are that candle, that spark, my friend.

    My power's turned on.
Starting right now I'll be strong...

  8. I totally agree with this! I have a "Be the Ripple" speech. In short it is that we can all be the start of a ripple in our little corner of the world in our own way. It does not have to be a huge thing--just start and do something small and it can build from there. Thanks for the inspiration today---all it takes is one match, right?

  10. We have a saying "What drop offa head wi drop pon shoulda" meaning that the good you do trickles down/out to those around you. We all have the strength to do good things.. even if it's "small" and to acknowldege the people around us who do things too. Very encouraging post!!

  13. So true! The spark within each of us may start small, but over time as we touch the lives of others it spreads into a wildfire with a positive impact. :)
