Grab the book closest to you ...

OK, so maybe THIS is a meme?

I just found this on Take 1... and Pass It Along.

* Right now go and grab the book that is closest to you.

* Turn to Page 56.

* Find the 5th Sentence on the page.

* Post that exact sentence as your comment here.

That's it, it's so simple! Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST book. And if you want, go ahead and pass this on to the readers of your blog, too. But if you don't, no worries. I'm just lazy, headachey and too fidgety to post something more exciting today, so I figured why not use this? ;)

The book that is closest to me right now is Julie and Julia, by Julie Powell. The line that I have found ... and I used sentences, instead of lines, so it was more complete ... is:

"Now if only we had some eggs poached in red wine."

  2. It had begun to snow outside. From The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold which I just finished not five minutes ago. I loved it, but it was dark and it made me sad in a weird way that I'll be thinking about for a long time.

    Great idea!
