8 Must-Have Cookbooks

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, Paleo, gluten-free, elimination diet,

If you're like me, cookbooks have become collectibles in your home.

I love them. I probably have too many of them. Even when I give some away or donate them, I wind up adding more to the mix. Here are a few that I've added to my shelves, and, let's admit it, countertops, this year - with some information on why you need them, too.

As always, y'all, there are affiliate links throughout this post that invite you to head on over to Amazon and shop to your heart's content. So, please do.

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, Cravings, Chrissy Teigen

I've heard incredible things about this cookbook. No matter who I've asked, everyone who has tried any of her recipes has been pleased. So. Yeah. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you probably have to at least be able to tolerate Teigen (no disrespect, Chrissy, I'm just trying to be honest with my readers here!) if you're going to get yourself a copy of this. If you're not a fan, skip it and move on to the next suggestion. Because there she is, front and center, and her pictures are scattered throughout the book - alongside the incredible meals she's suggesting we make. And, oh yeah, along with pictures of her husband, the extremely talented John Legend. But, if you do get it? Let me know what you think. Because as of right now, Cravings is on my holiday wish list.

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, Paleo, gluten-free, elimination diet, Whole30, dairy-free, alcohol-free, no alcohol, special dietary needs, Whole9, Melissa Hartwig

Whole30 has been a lifesaver for me. Yes, I've fallen off track a bit since my *it's been a year* post. But I'm still feeling good. And the original Whole30 30-Day Guide is still bit of a bible for me. So that's why I'm so excited to get my hands on a copy of the official Whole30 Cookbook. 150 recipes. One. Hundred. And. Fifty. To keep me compliant with the Whole30 program, or even Paleo, if you're on that train. And if you want to learn more about the Whole30 program, or other ways to do elimination diets, check out Food Freedom Forever. Melissa Hartwig offers up basic Whole30 insight, but also talks about how to move forward with your everyday life after the 30 days are over. So, back to this cookbook. Let's all get a copy and then we can compare our favorite recipes, okay?

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, Paleo, gluten-free, elimination diet, Jennifer Robins, Instant Pot, pressure cooker, slow cooker, kitchen gadget

I pre-ordered this book as soon as I got my Instant Pot after Thanksgiving weekend. I'm probably a little too excited about it, if I'm being honest. I mean, I'm learning on a trial and error sort of basis when it comes to the Instant Pot. But when I'm itching to go back to cleaner eating and want to try to use the magical machine? This cookbook with 80 gluten- and grain-free recipes? Yes, please. Sign me up immediately. Oh, wait, I already am. And you won't even have to wait as long as I did, because the book comes out on January 3rd, 2017. So. Pre-order your copy of Paleo Cooking With Your Instant Pot today. And if you don't have an Instant Pot yet, what are you waiting for? Order yourself one right this minute. It will change your cooking habits forever.

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, Paleo, gluten-free, elimination diet, Jennifer Robins, Instant Pot, pressure cooker, slow cooker, kitchen gadget, Simone Miller, Kosher cooking, Kosher, grain-free

I was really excited to get this cookbook. I'm always looking for ways to incorporate Jewish recipes into my life. And I kinda stink at getting it done. And the more I look at the way I eat, and the way I'd like to eat more often? I think switching some recipes up a bit and recreating them in a way that's current enough to help people who keep Kosher but need to go gluten-free and/or Paleo is pretty awesome. So that's why I ordered The New Yiddish Kitchen. You'll notice it's another Jennifer Robins book. That's not an accident. I kind of fell down the rabbit hole of her books when I was looking for something. And I fell hard! My guess is that it won't be long before I find myself grabbing copies of both, Down South Paleo and The Paleo Kids Cookbook.

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, elimination diet, Kathy Hester, Instant Pot, pressure cooker, slow cooker, kitchen gadget, Vegan, dietary needs, vegetarian

You're going to truly grasp my cookbook addiction when I let you know I've pre-ordered this book, as well. I've actually met Kathy Hester before! We've been at the same blogging events in our area. She is really nice, and I know her website has some incredible recipes on it. And so, when a friend told me about this book and that it's coming out in January? Boom. Pre-ordered. You should do the same. This way we can work on recipes from The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook For Your Instant Pot together.

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, Alton Brown, Food Network

I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't have any of Alton's cookbooks. Gasp. I know, right? And he's always been a favorite of mine. He's fascinating. He was also the only reason to watch The Next Food Network Star. #justsayin - And so, the more I hear about this new cookbook, the more I think I need to own it. I mean, he's Alton. So, Everydaycook is definitely on my want-to-buy list.

books, recommendations, cookbooks, cooking, eating, entertaining, Katie Wells, healthy eating, Wellness Mama

This cover intrigues me. It's an interesting variety of foods, and I want to know more. Also? 200 recipes? Easy-to-prepare recipes? And time-saving advice? Huh. I 'll admit, I honestly know very little about The Wellness Mama Cookbook. But I looked at the preview and found that I liked it. It's coming out right after Christmas, so it's the perfect way to spend up your holiday gift cards! And confession time? Before I buy it I might be trying out the first recipe you see in the preview. I mean, it's like a test-run, right? And those apple-cinnamon muffins with coconut flour sound delicious. AND I have all of the ingredients on-hand. So. Yeah. Sssssh. Let me know if you're familiar with The Wellness Mama and if you're going to get yourself a copy of her cookbook.
