I hate those suckers ...

LITERALLY!

Whenever I go outside I return inside with several bug bites. I swear I hate those suckers! D@mn them for loving me way too much.

I was just outside with my daughter, maybe for 30-45 minutes. It's an overcast day, really kind of nice out, and we were in the backyard. But with the sun in hiding and the heat kind of off course for the regular summer days, the bugs were out in rare form. D@mn them. I returned inside with at least 3 mosquito bites on my legs. :(

I did spray myself with some OFF, but too little too late. It doesn't seem to work much anyway, and I do have the Burt's Bees brand of bug spray, but Dear G-d that stuff stinks! It's like I rolled around in a -- what are those candles called that you use to keep the skeeters away? -- wow, I can't believe that the word is escaping me right now. Well, anyway, it's like I rolled around with one of those!

So what the heck am I doing living Down South, you ask? Yeah, every summer when the bugs come out and suck on me like I would a piece of buttery corn on the cob I find myself asking that very same question!

So, if you have a natural and safe way to prevent these suckers from gnawing on me for the rest of the summer, PLEASE let me know. I'm about to start wearing my winter clothes when I go out, and I know that ain't gonna' cut it!

AHA! Citronella! I was about to look it up and it popped into my head. Whew. I feel much better now. Leave it to Mommy Brain! Only took me 20 minutes to figure it out. D'uh.
