A Letter to my Daughter

To my daughter,

I love you more than you could know.

You are my life, my breath, my motivation.

My heart, my soul, my inspiration.

You hold so much of my heart in whatever you do.

And so much of me can be seen in you.

I watch you develop day to day,

And wrestle with things that don't go your way.

The days are filled with "what?" and "why?"

The nights are filled with a tired cry.

Your small body holds so much inside,

I wish you'd let me be your guide ...

My sweet, sweet child, I love you so.

And just how much, in time you'll know.

And when that day comes, that I hope I'll see ...

You've become a mom, just like me.

The challenges and trials, the fears and fright,

The way you hold me when you say good night.

I love you more than you could know,

But I sure will keep trying to tell you so.

Love, **Mom
